Creating a New Revision Label for Selected Items

  1. Select a folder from the folder tree.
  2. Click the component tab containing the items you want to label.
  3. Select one or more items in the upper pane.
  4. Right-click the selected item(s) and choose Labels > New . The Attach a New Revision dialog box opens.
  5. Type a name and description for the label. The maximum name length is 64 characters and the description length is 254 characters.
  6. Optionally, check Frozen to ensure that only the selected item revision can have this label.
  7. Indicate what item revision is to receive this label by selecting a configuration option. The choices are:
    Current Configuration
    Attaches the label to the tip revision.
    Labeled Configuration
    Attaches the label to the revision with a specified label. The labels are in reverse chronological order based on the time at which they were created.
    Promotion State Configuration
    Attaches the label to the revision currently in a specified promotion state. (Actually, the label is attached to the revision that has the promotion state's current view label.)
    Configuration As Of
    Attach the label to the revision that was the tip revision at a specified date and time.
  8. Click OK.
