You can set file status storage for all your files through a personal option setting that controls file status information
for all your files. This setting applies to all files that are in views for which you have not set a file status property.

Choose
to open the
Personal Options dialog box.

Click the
Files tab.

Select
Central or
Per Folder option in the
File Status Repository group.
- Central
- If several users all check files in and out of
StarTeam from a shared working folder, file statuses are stored on each of their computers. Whenever a user makes a change to a file
in the working folder, the status for that file is updated only on that user's computer. Everyone else sees the status
Unknown for that file. Over time, all the files may have been changed, and the statuses can become
Unknown for all users of all files.
- Per Folder
- Most useful in the case where multiple users are sharing a working folder because it causes the statuses to be updated within
the working folder itself. Everyone has access to those status changes and
Unknown statuses do not occur.
