Lexical Structure

The scripting language used by Silk Performer is called Benchmark Description Language (BDL). BDL is not case-sensitive.

A BDL load testing script consists of:

Keywords
Lists the keywords reserved for Benchmark Description Language use only.
Names
Provides an overview of names and includes examples of valid and invalid names.
Strings
Describes the syntax for strings within Silk Performer.
Escape Sequences In String Constants
Lists and describes the escape sequences for string constants.
Single Characters
Provides an overview of single-character constants and includes valid and invalid examples.
Numbers
Distinguishes between integers and floating-point numbers and provides valid and invalid examples.
Special Characters
Lists the special characters that Silk Performer uses.
Comments
Describes line, block, and nested comment use in Silk Performer.
