Configuring the Silk Meter connection

Configure the Silk Meter connection to specify another license server, a different port for the license server, or whether to run Silk Meter in standalone mode.
  1. Click (in Microsoft Windows 7) Start > All Programs > Silk > Silk Meter 20.5 > Policy Administrator or (in Microsoft Windows 10) Start > Silk > Policy Administrator to access the Policy Administrator.
  2. In the Policy Administrator, click Configuration > Connection Settings in the menu or click Connection Settings in the toolbar. The Connection Settings dialog appears.
  3. Select the licensing mode that you want to use.
    • To access a local or remote license server, click License Server.
    • To run Silk Meter in standalone mode, without requiring a connection to a license server, click Standalone.
  4. If you have selected to access a local or remote license server, specify the connection details.
    1. Specify the host name or the IP address of the license server in the Host field. Silk Meter supports using localhost as the host name.
    2. Specify the number of the port on which the Silk Meter license server runs in the Port field. The default port is 5461.
  5. Click OK. Silk Meter saves your changes and closes the Connection Settings window.
