To query log files:
Access the Policy Administrator.
Click Report/Query Log File or use the corresponding button on the toolbar. The query dialog appears.
Select and fill in the appropriate information, then click Run Query.
The Query dialog is used to query log files, save query output to report files and view report files. The Query dialog includes the following sections and buttons:
Standard Log files: Select this option to query standard log files. Standard log files are located at %SILK_CONFIG_PATH%\<Silk Meter directory>. They are named log*. log.
Log File on local machine with running sgme_sys: Select this option to query local files.
Report File: Select this option to view report files.
Target File: Enter the target file name, if required.
Browse: Click to search for a file.
Configure Target Size: Click to open the Target Size Options dialog, which is used to restrict the number of log file lines that are suitable for queries.
Select all lines or specify a number of lines.
Put output into Report File: Select this option to create a report file containing the query output and enter a file name in the box below.
Browse: Click to search for a file.
Advanced: Click to bring up a dialog that enables you to exclude the daily summary from the report file. This button is only activated if you have opted to show the report file in a Web browser.
Show output in Web Browser: Select this box to show the Report File in the default Web browser.
Show output in Log Browser: Click to show the output in the Log Browser.
The format for this data is MM/DD/YYYY (e.g, 06/26/2003).
Start date: Enter the date when the search is to begin.
Start hour: Enter the hour when the search is to begin.
End date: Enter the date when the search is to end.
End hour: Enter the hour when the search is to end.
Policy ID: Enter the policy ID.
Product: Enter the product name.
Version: Enter the version number of the product.
User: Enter the user name, or select one of the existing user names. Click on the Browse button to select a user name from a dialog that includes all existing user names.
Group: Select one of the existing group names. Click the Browse button to select a group name from a dialog that includes all existing group names.
Host: Enter the host name.
Run Query: Click to start a query with actual settings.
Close: Click to exit the dialog.
