Sentinel 8.6.1.1 Release Notes

Sentinel 8.6.1.1 addresses some of the customer bugs as well as some existing Sentinel product bugs.

Many of these improvements were made in direct response to suggestions from our customers. We thank you for your time and valuable input. 1.0 What’s New?

The following sections outline the key features provided by this release, as well as issues resolved in this release:

1.1 JDK Upgrade

Sentinel now supports the JDK version 8u412b08.

1.2 Security Vulnerability Fixes

Code fixes have been made to address security vulnerabilities across various components.

2.0 Deprecation and Obsolescence

2.1 Deprecating Appliance Support

Starting October 2024, the ISO, VHD, and OVF appliance files will no longer be available on the product download site. For more information, contact the technical support team.

3.0 Software Fixes

3.1 Failure to Remove the Dynamic List Item Through Action

Issue: The dynamic list item cannot be removed through action when a correlation rule is triggered.

Workaround: This issue has been fixed now.

6.0 Installing Sentinel 8.6.1.1

NOTE:All the hosts used for the Sentinel server and its components must be set up in two way DNS resolvable environment (Hostname to IP and IP to Hostname).

7.0 Upgrading to Sentinel 8.6.1.1

You can directly upgrade to Sentinel 8.6.1.1 from 8.3.1.0 and later versions of Sentinel. If you have a version older than Sentinel 8.3.1.0, then you must first upgrade to Sentinel 8.3.1.0 and then to Sentinel 8.6.1.1.
