AutoPass License Server (APLS), is a Micro Focus web-based solution for managing your Micro Focus Software product licenses. It helps you organize and manage your product licenses, server users, and client users.
The AutoPass License Server manages the licenses acquired from the license portal. These licenses are then installed on the AutoPass License Server. When a client computer needs a license, the client sends a request to the Autopass License Server and a license is checked out to this computer.
APLS uses the concurrent (floating) license model. A concurrent license is shared dynamically between multiple client users. The concurrent licenses are shared or pooled between a groups of users. Using concurrent licenses enables you to purchase the number of licenses equal to the largest number of users liable to be active at any time, instead of the total number of users of a product.
The AutoPass License Server manages the licenses acquired from the license portal. These licenses are then installed on the AutoPass License Server. When a client computer needs a license, the client sends a request to the Autopass License Server and a license is checked out to this user.
On a concurrent license, after the client user's work session (or when the license expires), the license is returned to the AutoPass License Server for renewal or for use by other users.
