4.4 Deploying a Test System

Secure API Manager allows you to deploy all four components on one appliance only for testing purposes. You cannot cluster a test system. The steps to configure a test system are different from those of a production system. You must deploy one virtual appliance before you can deploy the test system.   1. Access the appliance management console using the root user and password you set when you deployed the appliance. For more information, see Deploying the Secure API Manager Appliances.

  2. Click Deployment Manager.

  3. Click Create.

  4. Click Test System.

  5. Copy the appliance host name that the Deployment Manager displays in the upper left corner of the screen.

  6. Use the following information to configure the Database Service:

    Load Balancer Host

    Paste the appliance host name in this field.

    Database User

    Specify a name for the database administrator of the Database Service.

    Password

    Specify a password for the database administrator.

    Database Host

    Paste the appliance host name in this field.

  7. Click Next.

  8. Use the following information to configure the Lifecycle Manager:

    Load Balancer Host

    Paste the appliance host name in this field.

    NFS options

    Do not specify any information in these fields. These fields are only for clustered deployments. Specifying information in these fields causes the deployment to fail.

    Lifecycle Manager Host

    Paste the appliance host name in this field.

  9. Click Next.

  10. Use the following information to configure the API Gateway:

    Load Balancer Host

    Paste the appliance host name in this field.

    NFS Options

    Do not specify any information in these fields. These fields are only for clustered deployments. Specifying information in these fields causes the deployment to fail.

    Gateway Host

    Paste the appliance host name in this field.

  11. Click Next.

  12. Use the following information to configure Analytics:

    Load Balancer Host

    Paste the appliance host name in this field.

    Analytics Host

    Paste the appliance host name in this field.

  13. Click Save and deploy.

  14. Click the STATUS tab to watch the deployment. It can take up to 15 minutes for the Deployment Manager to deploy and configure the test system.

  15. Wait until you see a green check mark in the Success column.

  16. Click the SYSTEM tab and ensure that there are green check marks beside the components.
