In keypad numeric mode, ENTER sends the same codes as RETURN. You can use line feed/new line mode (LNM) to change the code sent by RETURN. When LNM is reset, pressing RETURN sends one control character (CR). When LNM is set, pressing RETURN sends two control characters (CR, LF).
