Reflection for Secure IT Gateway 8.5 Release Notes

Reflection for Secure IT Gateway for Windows 8.5 released in December 2023 and is available for new and maintained customers.

Version Number Information

Release numbers have been aligned for all Reflection for Secure IT server products.

What's New

Reflection for Secure IT Gateway 8.5 includes the following enhancements:

  • Updated platform support to include Microsoft Windows Server 2022.

  • RSIT Gateway is now using Azul Zulu instead of Oracle JDK.

  • Added a feature to automatically delete incomplete files resulting from a failed upload transfer.

  • The ssh-keygen and ssh-certtool utilities are no longer installed.

  • The Reflection for Secure IT Gateway Transfer Client web application is now called Identity Manager, since the Transfer Client applet has been deprecated. Java Applets are no longer being supported by modern browsers. The ability to self-administer login credentials is still supported in the Identity Manager.

  • Added support for rsa-sha2-512 and rsa-sha2-256 digital signatures in the Reflection Secure Shell Proxy.

Gateway Administrator Web Application

The Gateway Administrator provides a web-based application that you can run directly from the computer on which you have installed the Gateway Administrator service, or from any system with access to this computer. It is supported on the following web browsers. JavaScript and cookies must be enabled.

  • Microsoft Edge (current versions)

  • Mozilla Firefox (current versions)

  • Google Chrome (current versions)

  • Apple Safari (current versions, Mac only)

PKI Services Manager

If your client users will authenticate using X.509 certificates or Smart Cards, you need to install and configure Reflection PKI Services Manager, which is available at no additional charge from the Reflection Gateway download page.

  • Reflection PKI Services Manager version 8.4 or later

Known Issues

Upgrading

If you are upgrading Reflection Gateway from a previous version, it is necessary to install the new version to the same directory where the previous version was installed.
