DBA

The DBA (Database Administrator) is an interactive, Windows-based tool that enables the system administrator at the end-user location to maintain and manage the Relativity database and the security of the Relativity database.

The DBA provides the following functions:

• Defining and authorizing users of the database.
• Restricting the view of the data for individual groups of users.
• Maintaining the linkages between tables and physical COBOL data files.
• Defining date constants.
• Merging security and connection information into a new catalog (an optional function controlled by the catalog developer).
• Producing reports on security and connections.

The DBA can be used only by users who have the Use Administrator privilege set for the catalog, or by the catalog owner (who has all privileges set by default). The owner may grant this privilege to one or more administrative groups - see Defining Group Privileges.
