PlateSpin Transformation Manager discovers available datastore resources for the target platform. It provides the following information for a datastore used by the one or more workloads in your transformation project:
For a VMware Platform or an AWS Platform, the Edit Datastore dialog displays the following information for a specified storage account:
The name of the datastore in the target platform environment.
The parent target platform for the datastore.
(Optional) Specify a brief description of the Datastore. This text appears by default in the Datastores list.
A list of the workloads that have been configured to use the datastore.
For VMware platforms, the following information is available:
The name of the datastore in the target platform environment.
(VMware) The name of the parent cluster where the datastore is available.
(VMware) The name of the member hosts in the cluster that have access to the datastore.
The type of datastore: VMFS or NFS.
The maximum storage space for the datastore and the amount of space in use as of the last successful discovery for the target platform.
NOTE:In the Workload dialog, when you assign datastores to a target workload, PTM displays the capacity and free space for the datastore based on the most recent discovery information. However, the potential usage by the assignment you make is not reserved for the migration against other assignments you might make for the datastore during planning.
(VMware) The number of VMs in the cluster that use the datastore.
Indicates whether the datastore is online or offline.
For Azure Cloud platforms, the following information is available for the Storage Accounts:
The name of the datastore in the target platform environment.
The parent location for the datastore in the Azure Cloud for the target platform. For example: Central US, West US, or North Europe.
Information about the Azure storage replication service associated with the datastore, such as the following:
Locally redundant storage (LRS)
Premium locally redundant storage (Premium_LRS)
Geo-redundant storage (GRS)
Read-access geo-redundant storage (RA_GRS)
Zone-redundant storage (ZRS)
For information, see Azure Storage Replication in the Microsoft Azure Documentation.
Indicates the performance characteristics of the Azure datastore.
Indicates whether the datastore is available as of the last successful discovery for the target platform.
Indicates whether Azure Storage Service encryption for data at rest is enabled for the datastore.
For information, see Azure Storage Service Encryption for Data at Rest in the Microsoft Azure Documentation.
For AWS Cloud platforms, the following information is available for the datastore:
The name of the datastore in the target platform environment.
The parent region for the datastore in the AWS Cloud for the target platform.
