To install the OrbRiver development environment,
on Unix systems, execute <CD directory>/install.ksh
<CD directory> <target directory>
where <CD
directory> is the directory where the OrbRiver CD is mounted, and
<target directory> is the directory where OrbRiver should be
installed. If the target directory does not exist, it is created,
provided that its parent exists.
on Windows-NT systems, execute tgxsetup on the CD and follows its instructions
Then, the environment variable ORBRIVER_DIR must be
set to the name of the target directory. It will be used by all the
OrbRiver tools, clients and services to access the configuration
files.
The $ORBRIVER_DIR/etc/Orbs file must be then setup to
define the orb topology (see Configuration).
Once
the license keys are installed (see Licenses),
the installation is completed. The development orb topology must then
be setup in the file $ORBRIVER_DIR/etc/Orbs (see Configuration).
The different orbs can then be launched, beginning with the license
server, and idl2ada and other OrbRiver tools can be used.
When deploying OrbRiver orbs, clients and services
for production, the environment variable ORBRIVER_DIR must to be set
to a directory containing a copy of the bin (except idl2ada), etc and
doc directories.
The $ORBRIVER_DIR/etc/Orbs file must be then
setup to define the production orb topology (see Configuration).
You
may need additional OrbRiver license keys. Once they are installed
(see Licenses), the production
installation is completed. The different orbs can then be launched,
beginning with the license server, and the production clients and
services can then run.
