If the secondary storage location becomes unavailable, it appears to users that some of their files and directories are suddenly missing. When the secondary storage location is back online, the files and directories are visible again.
Users might also observe that some files appear to be missing if NCP Server is having performance issues. Some tuning of NCP Server caching is recommended depending on the server RAM, volume size, number of files, and number of trustees accessing the volumes. For information about tuning issues for NCP Server, see TID 7004888: NCP Performance Tuning on Open Enterprise Server 2 Linux in the OpenText Knowledgebase.
