3.1 Installing OES iPrint Software

When installing Open Enterprise Server (OES), if you choose OES iPrint, you can skip the instructions in this section and proceed to Section 3.3, Setting Up OES iPrint, because the iPrint software components are automatically installed on the server during OES installation. The Common UNIX Printing System (CUPS) software is also installed. However, even though the CUPS software is installed, it is disabled to avoid port 631 conflicts.

In order to disable iPrint services, you need to disable the Print Manager and the Driver Store. For more information on disabling iPrint services, see “Disabling OES 2023 Services” in the OES 2023: Installation Guide.
