In addition to the bug fixes, NCP provides the following enhancements and changes in OES 2018:
The ncpcon commands support BASH auto-completion.
You can now enforce encryption and MFA at volume/cluster volume level or path level on the NCP server. For more information, see Section A.1.20, Managing NCP Security Configurations
You can now view the list of NCP connections including encrypted/ non-encrypted, MFA encrypted, and MFA non-encrypted connections. For more information, see Section A.1.19, Managing NCP Server Connections
By default, encryption at server level is enabled. For more information, Section A.1.20, Managing NCP Security Configurations
CPU affinity is applied to SSG threads in NCP Server for improving the encryption performance. For more information, see Section A.1.6, Managing NCP Threads
Two error codes ‘103 (0x67)’ and ‘104 (0x68 )’ are introduced for Encryption and MFA enforcement. For more information, see Section A.1.20, Managing NCP Security Configurations
REPLICATE_PRIMARY_TREE_TO_SHADOW
The NSS filesystem is DST aware for new volumes. so the primary volume directory tree structure will always be replicated on the shadow volume directory tree. You can now replicate the primary volume directory tree structure to the shadow volume directory tree by setting REPLICATE_PRIMARY_TREE_TO_SHADOW option to 1. For more information, see Section A.1.22, Managing Dynamic Storage Technology
