Create New T27 Document

How do I get to this dialog box?
  1. Create a new document.

    The steps depend on your user interface mode.

    User interface mode Steps
    Ribbon or InfoConnect Browser From the Quick Access Toolbar, click New Document .
    TouchUX Tap the Folder icon and then under File, select New.
    Classic MDI From the File menu, select New Session.
  2. In the Create New Document dialog box, click T27 terminal and then select Create.

Connection

Choose one of the following options.

Option Description
Path name / Path Description (list box) If available, select an existing path from the list to use with this session. If you want the option to use different, pre-configured paths each time you start the session, select Choose Path at session startup instead. If you want to create a new path, click Create Path instead.

Note: You can right-click on any listed path to delete that path or modify the path using the Database editor.
Choose path at session startup (check box) Select this option if you want to choose from a list of existing paths each time you start the session.
Create Path (button) Select this button to configure a new path.

Terminal

Option Description
Keyboard map If you want to specify a custom keyboard map, browse to the file. The default keyboard map is selected automatically.

Configure additional settings

Select this option and then click OK to configure the host connection, the terminal appearance, and various user interface settings.

Adding a New Path

From the Connection Type section users can add a path for new ALC Terminal Sessions.

Connection Type - TCPA

Option Description
Station ID Type a unique station identifier (up to 16 characters) to use for the communication session associated with this path. If you're not sure what to type, contact your system administrator. Each Station ID should be unique within the entire network.
Use ID Management When enabled, this option is available when using a centralized management server with ID Manager installed. ID Manager configures and monitors a pool of resource IDs that a client can use to establish a host session, thereby eliminating the need for administrators to create configurations for every client.
Auto Select Select this option to have TCPA select the appropriate terminal emulation type.

If you clear this option, you must enter a terminal emulation type from the list box below the Auto Select option.
IP Address or Domain Name Enter the IP Address or Domain Name.
Host Port Enter the Host Port.
Security Settings Selecting this button will launch the Security Properties dialog box.
Authentication Method Select the method of authentication for verifying user credentials:

Kerberos: to authenticate with a Kerberos server.

Userid/Password: to use the default authentication method
Path Description The Path name and Path description will populate based on the selections thus far. Both fields can be edited to include more identifiable terms.
