Connecting to Hosts
Using InfoConnect, you can connect to hosts directly from your desktop. If your enterprise uses a centralized management server you can connect to sessions through that server.
Connect and save your connection settings
To access a host, you need to open a session on that host. In InfoConnect, you can create a session document that allows you to configure and reuse your session.

Start the InfoConnect Workspace. ( All Programs > Rocket Software InfoConnect > Utilities > InfoConnect Workspace.)

If it does not open automatically, open the Create New Document dialog box.
The steps depend on your user interface mode.
User interface mode Steps User Interface Mode Steps Ribbon or InfoConnect Browser From the Quick Access Toolbar, click New Document . TouchUX Tap the Folder icon and then under File, select New. Classic MDI From the File menu, select New Session. -
From the Create New Document dialog box, select a session template. (The templates available to you depend on your version of InfoConnect.)
For this session type Use this template Airlines terminal sessions ALC terminal IBM System i 5250 terminal IBM Mainframe 3270 terminal Unisys 2200 UTS terminal Unisys A Series T27 terminal VAX/VMS, UNIX, or asynchronous host VT Terminal -
Click Create.

Configure the connection settings:
For ALC, UTS, or T27 sessions: Under Connection, select an existing path. Or, click Create Path and follow the Path Wizard prompts to configure the connection type, network, and host settings that make up your path.

For 3270, 5250, VT, or HP sessions: Enter Connection and Terminal settings for your connection.

From the Quick Access Toolbar, click the Save button to save the session document.
Start a host session
Once you've created and saved a session document, you can connect to the host by opening the session document.

Start the InfoConnect Workspace. (Close the Create New Document dialog box if it appears.)

Click your the session you want to start in the Recent Documents display.

Open any saved session document. The steps depend on your user interface mode:
User Interface Mode Steps Ribbon or InfoConnect Browser From the Quick Access Toolbar, click the Open button. TouchUx Tap the Folder icon and then select Open. Classic MDI From the File menu, select Open.
Connect or Disconnect a Session
By default, terminal session documents are configured to connect to the host automatically when you create or open a terminal session. However, with a session document open in InfoConnect, you can manually disconnect or connect.

User Interface Mode Steps Ribbon On the Session tab, in the Host group, click to disconnect or to connect. InfoConnect Browser On the InfoConnect menu, choose Host and then Disconnect or Connect. Classic MDI From the Session menu, choose Disconnect or Connect.
