Create New ALC Terminal Document

How do I get to this dialog box?
  1. Create a new document.

    The steps depend on your user interface mode.

    Ribbon or InfoConnect Browser From the Quick Access Toolbar, click New Document .
    TouchUX Tap the Folder icon and then under File, select New.
    Classic MDI From the File menu, select New Session.
  2. In the Create New Document dialog box, click ALC terminal and then select Create.

From this dialog box, configure ALC terminal settings for a Computer Reservation System (CRS) such as Amadeus, Apollo, SABRE, and Shares.

Connection

Choose one of the following options.

Option Description
Add, Modify, and Delete Use the Add, Modify, and Delete options to manage and create paths. When Add is selected,
Path name / Path Description (list box) If available, select an existing path from the list to use with this session. If you want the option to use different, pre-configured paths each time you start the session, select Choose Path at session startup instead. If you want to create a new path, click Create Path instead.

Note: You can right-click on any listed path to delete that path or modify the path using the Database editor.
Choose path at session startup (check box) Select this option if you want to choose from a list of existing paths each time you start the session.
Create Path (button) Click this button to start the Path Wizard and configure a new path.

Terminal

Option Description
Keyboard map If you want to specify a custom keyboard map, browse to the file. The default keyboard map is selected automatically.

Configure additional settings

Select this option and then click OK to configure the host connection, the terminal appearance, and various user interface settings.


Adding a New Path

From the Connection Type section users can add a path for new ALC Terminal Sessions.

Connection Type

Select from the dropdown the desired transport type. The available options are UDPFRAD, TCPFRAD, ATSTCP, SABRE2, MATIP and AIRGATE. Each Connection Type has unique configuration options to be added. See each section below for a additional documentation.

Connection Type - UDPFRAD

Option Description
Network Select one of the following options: EDS SHARES, System One, or Amadeus.
Terminal Address (TA) This is the terminal identifier.
Use ID Management When enabled, this option is available when using a centralized management server with ID Manager installed. ID Manager configures and monitors a pool of resource IDs that a client can use to establish a host session, thereby eliminating the need for administrators to create configurations for every client.
Select Host Use the options to Add or Modify the desired Host Name and IP Address.
Print Host One Select the primary host to receive an initialization message when the print server is active.
Print Host Two Select the secondary host to receive an initialization message when the print server is active.
Path Description The Path name and Path description will populate based on the selections thus far. Both fields can be edited to include more identifiable terms.

Connection Type - TCPFRAD

Option Description
Terminal Address (TA) This is the terminal identifier.
Use ID Management When enabled, this option is available when using a centralized management server with ID Manager installed. ID Manager configures and monitors a pool of resource IDs that a client can use to establish a host session, thereby eliminating the need for administrators to create configurations for every client.
IP Address or Domain Name Enter the IP Address or Domain Name.
Host Port Enter the Host Port.
Security Settings Selecting this button will launch the Security Properties dialog box.
Automatic reconnect When enabled, InfoConnect attempts to reconnect to the host automatically, without prompting the user.
Path Description The Path name and Path description will populate based on the selections thus far. Both fields can be edited to include more identifiable terms.

Connection Type - ATSTCP

Option Description
Client ID
Workstation name Enter the workstation name assigned on the Configuration Server by your network administrator. Enter a name in this text box before selecting the Config Refresh button.
Config Refresh Click this button to query the Configuration Server and request configuration information based on your workstation name. The configuration information in the GTID Options dialog box, the Global IP-Concentrator Options dialog box, and the IPC Address List dialog box is updated from this query.
Terminal Type Select the terminal type (Application, Printer, and Terminal) that will be assigned to the workstation.
GTID Select the global terminal identifiers (GTID) that will be assigned to your workstation. The values that appear in this drop-down list box change depending on the terminal type you have selected. The GTIDs are updated by the Configuration Server when you click Config Refresh.
Path Description The Path name and Path description will populate based on the selections thus far. Both fields can be edited to include more identifiable terms.

Connection Type - SABRE2

Option Description
Name of Route (in CSAPI.CFG) Enter the name of the route. This name can be anything. You can use a printer description or a printer location, such as LaserJet or Accounting_1. Each route consists of three main parts: host filter, host path, and print queue.
Terminal Address (TA) This is the terminal identifier.
Path Description The Path name and Path description will populate based on the selections thus far. Both fields can be edited to include more identifiable terms.

Connection Type - MATIP

Option Description
MATIP Address Enter the 4-byte Agent Set Control Unit (ASCU) cluster address. (For more information, see your MATIP system administrator.)
Terminal Address (TA) This is the terminal identifier. It must be a hexadecimal value in the range 00 2B or 2D   3F, inclusive.
Use ID Management When enabled, this option is available when using a centralized management server with ID Manager installed. ID Manager configures and monitors a pool of resource IDs that a client can use to establish a host session, thereby eliminating the need for administrators to create configurations for every client.
Create a new host connection Select this option to create a new host connection and supply the Connection name.
Use an existing host connection Select the MATIP host channel from the list of available host channels to use with this MATIP host path.
IP Address or Domain Name Enter the IP Address or Domain Name.
Host Port Enter the Host Port.
Security Settings Selecting this button will launch the Security Properties dialog box.
Character Encoding Select from the following supported options: IPARS, ASCII, or EBCDIC.
Addressing Enable 2-Byte to only use the last 2 bytes of the ASCU address (A1, A2) in the message header.

Enable 4-Byte to use the full ASCU address (H1, H2, A1, A2) in the message headers.
Worldspan Select to enable Worldspan (WSE MATIP). When enabled input the required PIN. Contact your system administrator for this information.
Local Port Specifies the port to connect to locally, and on the destination/server.
ALC Configuration File Type in or select with the Browse button a .cnf file to configure.
Path Description The Path name and Path description will populate based on the selections thus far. Both fields can be edited to include more identifiable terms.

Connection Type - AIRGATE

Option Description
IP Address or Domain Name Enter the IP Address or Domain Name.
Host Port Enter the Host Port.
Security Settings Selecting this button will launch the Security Properties dialog box.
Protocol Available protocols are MATIP, Apollo (ATSTCP), SABRE, or UDPFRAD/TCPFRAD.
Host Path Input the host path.
Address Pool Select this option to use a terminal address from an address pool.
Direct Access Select this to use specify the terminal address to use for this host channel.
