Scenarios

Consider the following contrasting scenarios:

• You have several file stores that contain text files, each discussing a subject relevant to your organization. You want to be able to use basic search to find all the information on a topic from this file store.

• You have many files containing customer data and information about interactions with your customers, including sales, support, and complaints. You want to be able to:

  • search for the content of these files

  • filter the information with a variety of additional information, such as the date, an employee name, or a customer name.

  • analyze your content to find any recurring issues that you can address.

For each scenario, you must choose the correct approach so that you can maximize the value of your content. Before you configure IDOL and index data, you should review your content and decide what you want to search.
