A document is a file that is indexed into IDOL Server.
A document usually represents a single file or object (such as a database record) that exists in a repository. However, a document can represent part of a file, or multiple files.
CFS creates documents that contain the content and metadata from files or objects in a repository, in a format that IDOL Server can process.
You can configure CFS to write documents to disk before they are indexed into IDOL Server. This means that you can see how data is indexed into IDOL, and identify whether additional fields or data need to be added to the documents.
If necessary, you can configure Import Tasks and Lua scripts to manipulate the structure and content of documents before they are indexed.
