IDOL Server allows you to query for information in a variety of ways. This section describes a few of these methods, and how and why you might use them.
Query . An introduction to querying.
Basic Queries. Search for concepts using sentences or keywords.
Boolean and Proximity Queries . Use Boolean and proximity operators to define specific relationships between search terms.
Wildcard Search. Search for incomplete values by using wildcards.
Field Search. Search for values in specific document fields.
Case-Sensitive Search. Search for values with an exact case.
Other Search Types. Use other search modes, such as synonym, phrase, Soundex, fuzzy, and proper names search.

Sort Results. Return results in a specified order.

Advanced Search Modes. Use advanced search modes for phrase search, case-sensitive search, and advanced proximity operators.
Stored States. Use stored states to store a set of query results to retrieve later.
Query Results. Interpret and manipulate the results of queries.
Hyperlinking and Suggestions. Suggest related documents for results.
Spelling Correction. Automatically provide spelling corrections in queries.
Query Manipulation Server. Manipulate the queries and responses in IDOL Server.
