Host Access for the Cloud 2.5 released with Management and Security Server version 12.6 SP1.
NOTE:The End User License Agreement (EULA) is available in English, Spanish, French, Italian and German in the <install location>\licenses directory.
Host Access for the Cloud (formerly Reflection ZFE) supports customer requirements for accessing the host in the new and long term; emphasizing the move to cloud technologies, whether on-prem or off-prem.
All releases are cumulative and this 2.5 release of Host Access for the Cloud contains everything released in all prior versions of Host Access for the Cloud and Reflection ZFE. See release notes for previous releases.
Features and fixes include:
With this release, Host Access for the Cloud now contains updated styling.(2.5)
Printing capabilities have been added for both UTS and AS/400 host types. See Printing for information. (2.5)
AS/400 file transfer has been added to this release. You can now transfer data between your computer and an iSeries 5250 host. See the Transfer Files documentation. (2.5)
The ability to Restore Defaults is now available to administrators and end users. This option makes it easier to return settings and display options to their original state. See Set User Preferences. (2.5)
The Management and Security Server clustering feature has been improved and simplified. The workflow now is consolidated in a single user interface. While this is a change in MSS (12.6.3), it affects HA Cloud administrators when setting up a multi-server clustering environment. See the MSS documentation for more information. (2.4.3)
HA Cloud now creates and uses a temp directory located inside the product’s installation folder. This simplifies running the product on systems where the system default temp directory has been locked down for security reasons. There are instructions for adjusting the temp directory during installation. See Installation fails due to server preventing access to TEMP directory. (2.4.3)
In this release support for AS/400 Kerberos automatic sign-on was added. This feature is configured in the MSS Administrative Console > Host Access for the Cloud and enabled in the Web client connection settings panel. (2.4.2)
You can now use X.509 authentication through a load balancer to provide secure connections. See Using X.509 authentication through a load balancer configured for TLS termination. (2.4.1)
Right-click context menu provides access to available copy and paste functions. Full feature functionality is browser-dependent.(2.4.1)
Logging is now available for the web client. See Logging for more information. (2.4.1)
Administrators now have more control over the handling and use of SSH unknown hosts. (2.4)
As of this release the session server listens on a single port, which is specified during installation. This enhances security and simplicity. (2.4)
The access path to the session server no longer includes /zfe. (2.4)
Multiple bug fixes and security updates.
These changes may affect your existing installation of Host Access for the Cloud.
As of Chrome version 80, accessing HA Cloud using the JavaScript SDK is now limited to HTTPS. This is due to new security constraints related to third party cookies (Samesite) put in place by the Chrome browser team. Also as a result, using Chrome version 80 or greater no longer works for accessing HA Cloud using the JavaScript Connector before version 2.4.3 (via HTTPS or HTTP).
Due to improvements in the Management and Security Server clustering option, the workflow has changed. See the MSS clustering documentation for information.
If you are deploying HA Cloud using Docker, note that zfe.jar has been renamed to sessionserver.jar.You may need to update custom Dockerfiles and related scripts. See Using Docker.
The location of Web Client extensions has been changed from <install_dir>/sessionserver/microservices/zfe/extensions/ to <install_dir>/sessionserver/microservices/sessionserver/extensions/. See Extending the Web Client.
