NOTE:For the Filr macOS client to perform appropriately, ensure to do the following:
Update the Filr Server to 24.3.1.
When you receive the system alert, update the Filr macOS client to the latest version.
External users can be imported from the identity store to Filr. The user accounts are created with details like name, email, and phone without self-registration. In the Filr Administrator console, you can select user type (internal/external) during LDAP server setup for better organization. For more information, see LDAP Server Configuration Dialog in the OpenText Filr 23.4: Administrative UI Reference.
You can disable the address book search for all external LDAP users. This improves security by preventing the disclosure of usernames and email IDs of external LDAP users. You must manually enter the email ID in the Share dialog. For more information, see Disable Address Book Search for external LDAP usersin the OpenText Filr 23.4: Administrative UI Reference.
Search User: The Address book search now identifies matching external LDAP users with a new tag "External" next to the username, name, or email ID.
Consistent User Labeling: The "External" tag is applied consistently to External users across the address book, Manage Shares, and other relevant sections.
The Filr Desktop client for Windows uses encryption to keep your passwords safe. It adds an extra layer of security by encrypting the passwords stored in the Windows Credential Manager. This double protection ensures your credentials are well-protected.
With the support of SMTP TLS 1.2v and later, the outbound email delivery is made more secure. To upload the trusted certificate and enable the SMTP, perform the following steps:
Download the certificate from the External SMTPS Server.
Import the certificate into JavaKeyStore. See Importing the Root Certificate into the Java Keystore for the steps to import the certificate.
Enable SMTPS, for the steps to enable SMTP, see Configuring an Email Service for Filr to Use in the OpenText Filr 23.4: Administrative UI Reference.

The following issues are fixed:
In Filr 24.3 macOS Desktop client, better handles FilrFS crashes. Hence some of the context menu items disappeared are now addressed.
The users removed from the LDAP directory store are still displayed in Filr. The deleted users marked as disabled in Filr are still displayed even when the Delete Users option is enabled. Disable LDAP users can now be deleted during LDAP sync when the Delete Users option is enabled.
External users can now use iOS client for collaboration.
The Filr Desktop client crashes if the username contains non-ASCII characters.
As a workaround, configure Filr to render UTF-8 text. To do this, go to Windows Settings > Time & language > Language & region > Administrative language settings > Change system locale, and select Beta: Use Unicode UTF-8 for worldwide language support. Then restart your computer for the change to take effect.
The following are the limitations found in Filr 24.3:
There is no option to display share link passwords as clear text in the Windows desktop client for Filr.
A file fails to download when shared through a password-protected share link using the wget command.
The following are the known issues in Filr 24.3:
The application appears to trust the user-supplied Host header. It was found that the Host header is vulnerable to the user's input due to a lack of server-side input validation.
To avoid "Host Header Injection" the admin has to add host.header.validate=true in /opt/novell/filr/apache-tomcat/webapps/ssf/WEB-INF/classes/config/ssf-ext.properties and restart filr.service.
If a file shared through a protected share link has ‘%’ in its name, you cannot download it using the share link.
If a file is:
Shared using a non-secured Share Link
Sent as Email Via Filr
You have to revoke/delete the existing non-secure share link and generate a new Share Link if you want to secure the resource.
Using Edit Online, when you open a JPG file with size greater than 20 MB, a blank page is displayed.
The Spreadsheet Preview option limits the number of rows, columns, and sheets so that browsers cannot render some of the content of large spreadsheets. For more information, see Browsers cannot render some of the content of large spreadsheets. in the OpenText Filr 23.4: Maintenance Best Practices Guide.
You cannot play the embedded video in a document when editing it online in iOS Client.
Folders or files containing # or % in its name are not supported in the SharePoint netfolders.
