Description |
---|---|
Scheme |
Type the file name of an existing Edit scheme, or select a scheme from the list. |

Choose this button to save the selected option as an Edit scheme. |
Delete |
Choose this button to delete the displayed Edit scheme. |
Copy Options |
Select one of these options to add special line formatting when you want to copy a selected area to a word processing document, spreadsheet, or other application. |
Copy Text As Data With No Formatting |
This is most useful when the text is being pasted back to the host as command line data. |
Copy Text On A Line By Line Basis |
Select this option to add a carriage return and linefeed to the end of each line. This is the same as selecting Copy from the Edit menu. |
Copy Text In A Paragraph For Word Processing |
Select this option to insert a space at the end of a line and prevent words from running together. A carriage return and a linefeed are inserted only before a blank line. |
Copy Text In A Tabular Format For Spreadsheets |
Select this option to change the white space between words to a single tab character, if there is more than one space. Most spreadsheets and word processor tables interpret tab characters as cell separators. If there is only a single space between the words, it remains a space when you copy the data, unless it is immediately followed by a numeric character (0-9, +, -, or .). |
Copy Link Data |
Select this option to copy text as an OLE item. You can then paste the item into an application that supports OLE linking. Clear this option to copy as plain text instead of an OLE item. |
Paste Options |
When pasting from the Windows clipboard to a session, you can add characters to the beginning of blank lines. Use the "Pad blank lines with" text box to enter one or more characters you want to place on each blank line in the pasted text. Leave this text box empty if you do not want to insert anything on blank lines. |
Remove new line characters |
When this option is enabled new line characters will be removed upon pasting from the Windows clipboard to a session. |
To copy a selection with special line formatting
From the Edit menu, choose Settings.
On the General page, select the copy option you want to use.
Choose OK to exit the Settings dialog box.
Select the area to copy.
From the Edit menu, choose Copy.
NOTE:If you select Copy Text In A Tabular Format For Spreadsheets, and there is more than one space between words, the space is changed to a single tab character. Most spreadsheets and word processor tables interpret tab characters as cell separators. If there is only a single space between the words, it remains a space when you copy the data, unless it is immediately followed by a numeric character (0-9, +, -, or .).
The option you select on the Edit General page is saved when you save your session, and used whenever you use the same session profile.
