WYSE Settings - Display Keyboard Page

The default values provided for most options on the Keyboard page are suitable for most users.

If required, you can modify the keystrokes that are sent to the screen or the host when you press a key or combination of keys.

Description

Margin

Select either or both values. Select Margin if you want the bell to sound when the text cursor approaches the right margin. Select Warning if you want the bell to sound for operating errors or when the terminal receives ASCII BEL.

Warning

Select either or both values. Select Warning if you want the bell to sound for operating errors or when the terminal receives ASCII BEL. Select Margin if you want the bell to sound when the text cursor approaches the right margin.

Numeric Keypad Enter

Select the code(s) which the Enter key on the numeric keypad sends: CR, CRLF, or TAB.

Main Keypad Enter

Select the code(s) which the Enter key on the main keypad sends: CR, CRLF, or TAB.

Caps Lock

Use this option to control the effect of the CapsLock key.

Key

Select a key F1-F16 or 20 other keys, alone or with Shift, to which you want to assign a character string.

Sequence

Assign character strings (text and commands that you use often with applications) to the key combination in Key.

Clear All

Clear all assignments.

Send Sequence To

Use this option to select where the key's definition is sent.

Host And/Or Screen

Data may be sent to the screen and/or the host, depending on the communication mode. That is, the data is sent the same as any regular keys.

Host

Data is sent to the host only, regardless of the communication mode. This is the default.

Screen

Data is sent to the screen only, regardless of the communication mode.
