Use the 3270 Printer LU1/LU4 page to configure printer session options for LU1 data stream printers. These are Host printer types that can support advanced printing options. The LU1 options instruct Extra! in how to process host printing information contained in LU1 SCS transparency blocks, in both ASCII and EBCDIC formats.

Disregards host settings for maximum print position (MPP) and maximum page length (MPL). (IBM 3812 printer switch = c06.) |
Ignore Vertical Channel Select (VCS) |
Disregards incoming Vertical Channel Select (VCS) codes. |
Discard LU1 SCS Transparency Blocks |
Discards host print formatting commands. |

Disregards the form feed command in the host print data stream. |
In ByPass GDI Mode, Process SCS Horizontal Tab Commands |
While in ByPass GDI Mode which translates the print data stream directly to raw ASCII, and strips the data stream of host printing control commands, this option allows you to enable the tabs portion of the Set Vertical Format (0xC2) SNA character string (SCS) code for LU1 Printing. All SCS horizontal tab commands (0x05) sent from the host will be interpreted by the printer session. |
Printer Type |
Specifies the type of printer emulated by the printer session. Choose either Laser (IBM 3812) or Dot Matrix (IBM 5224). |
Laser |
Selects a laser (IBM 3812) printer for the printer session to emulate. |
Dot Matrix |
Selects a dot matrix (IBM 5224) printer for the printer session to emulate. |
