You use the New Session Wizard or Settings - connection type Printer pages to set Host-specific printer control settings for the given connection type. These are settings that the Host uses to process print tasks before they are sent to your PC through a printer session.
You can access this property page through either the New Session Wizard or from the Settings dialog.
Host Printer Settings Page (AS/400)
Use this dialog box to select Host-specific printer settings such as printer model, paper source, and host print transform. These are settings that the Host uses to process print tasks before they are sent to your PC through a printer session.
Connection Notes:
This page only appears if you are configuring or changing connection options for a printer session. If you access this dialog box from the Options menu, Settings command, you must restart the session before changes take effect.
To change host printer settings (AS/400)
From the Options menu in a display or printer session, select Settings.
In the Categories list, select Connections.
Choose the Printer tab.
Change all appropriate settings.
To set host printer settings (AS/400)
Start a new AS/400 printer session, and select your connection type.
In the New Session Wizard, choose the Printer tab.
Change all appropriate settings.

Corresponds to the AS/400 Message queue, Library parameter. Specify the library where the message queue is located. If no current library entry exists in the library list, the QGPL is used. The possible values are: *LIBL: All libraries in the job's library list are searched until the first match is found. *CURLIB: Search the current job library list to locate the message queue. If no current library entry exists in the library list, the QGPL is used. |
Font |
Sets the font identifier and size used by the Host printer. |
Transform print data |
Selects options for transforming print information data from the Host. |
Enable Host Print Transform |
Specifies that host printer settings (for example: printer type, font, paper size, source, etc. ) are used and local settings are ignored. If Host Print Transform is enable, then the option "Bypass Windows GDI" in Printer tab of Printer setting cannot be turned off. |
Printer Model |
Corresponds to the Manufacturer type and Model parameters. Specify the manufacturer, type, and model for the Host printer using the host print transform function. Choose Other if your Host printer type and model are not listed. |
Paper Source 1 |
Specify the type of paper used in paper source one for the Host printer. The possible values are: |
Paper Source 2 |
Specifies the type of paper used in paper source two for the Host printer. The possible values are: MFRTYPMDL: The system uses the suggested setting for this printer. LETTER: The paper for this source is letter-sized (8.5 x 11 inches). LEGAL: The paper for this source is legal-sized (8.5 x 14 inches). |
Envelope Source |
Specifies the type of envelopes used in the third paper source for the Host printer. The possible values are: MFRTYPMDL: The system uses the suggested setting for this printer. MONARCH: The envelopes for this source are monarch-sized (3.875 x 7.5 inches). NUMBER9: The envelopes for this source are number 9-sized (3.875 x 8.875 inches). NUMBER10:The envelopes for this source are number 10-sized (4.125 x 9.5 inches). B5: The envelope for this source is B5-sized (176 x 250mm). C5: The envelopes for this source are C5-sized (162mm x 229mm). DL: The envelopes for this source are DL-sized (110mm x 220mm). NONE: No envelope source is specified. |
Customizing Object |
Shows the name of the default AS/400 customizing object (QWPDEFAULT) that contains the information that is used by your printer during a printer session. To store this printer information under another customizing object name, type that name here. |
