Job job-name - ddname

Use this page to view details of an output file from a job and to change control information for the file.

Job Name
Shows the name of the job to the right of the label. Shows the ddname of the output file to the left of the label.
Status
Shows the current status of the data set. The possible values are
Active The job is currently being executed
Complete The file has been printed
Input Hold The job is currently held in the input queue: it will not be executed until you release it
Input Ready The job is currently in the input queue
Other The status is unknown
Output Held The output from the job is held awaiting release
Output Ready The output from the job is available to be scheduled
Parsing MSS is currently parsing the JCL
SYSOUT Disp The output data set is scheduled to an output device but not yet actioned (transient state)
SYSOUT Print The output file is currently being printed
SYSOUT Hold The output data set is scheduled to an output device but not yet actioned (transient state)
SYSOUT Ready The output data set is available to be scheduled to an output device
Hold
Click this to hold the file, so that its status cannot be changed. (This button changes to a Release button when you click it.) If you have also changed the value for Class or Priority the change is applied.
Release
Click this to release a held file, so that its status can be changed. (This button changes to a Hold button when you click it.) If you have also changed the value for Class or Priority the change is applied.
Class
Shows the class of the file, as specified on the JOB card. If you want to change the class of the file, specify the new class and click Update.
Priority
Shows the priority of the file, as specified on the JOB card. If you want to change the priority of the file, specify the new priority and click Update.
Update
To change the class or priority of a file, modify the appropriate field and then click this.
User
Shows the user ID under which the job was run. If you did not specify a USER on the JOB card, the user ID is the name of the enterprise server.
Records
Shows the number of records in the output file.
Purge

Click this to delete the file.

Step
Shows the name of the job step that produced this file.
Proc Step
Shows the name of the procedure step, where an output data set was created by a step in a procedure.
Step Number
Shows the number of the job step that produced this file.
Proc Step No
Shows the number of the procedure step, where an output data set was created by a step in a procedure.
Codeset

Shows the codeset of the output file.

Created

Shows the date and time the output file was created.

LRECL Min / Max
Shows the maximum and minimum record lengths.
Referenced
Shows the date and time the file was last used in a job.
DS Name
Shows the data set name of the output file, in mainframe format.
PC Name
Shows the filename of the output file, in the format of your local operating system.
Display
Click this to display the contents of the file.
Start
Specify the number of the record where you want the display of the file contents to start. Defaults to 1.
for
Specify how many records you want to be displayed. Clear the field to view all the records in a file. Defaults to 10000. If there were more records than you requested, the final line in the listing warns you that the output was curtailed.
Codeset (for display)
Specify the codeset in which you want the contents to be displayed. Defaults to ASCII.

If you select Both, the system tries to display the contents without regard to the codeset used. For example, the strings x'41424344' and x'a1a2a3a4' are both displayed as "ABCD". You might find this of use if you are not sure what codeset was used to create the file.

The value 'Dump' gives you a hexadecimal dump of the file.

Details
Check this if you want extra details to be included in the display of the file contents.
Job
Specify the number of a different job from the one being displayed, then click this to go to the Details page for that job.
