SUM

The following parameters of this SYNCSORT control statement are supported in MFSORT and MFJSORT. To enable this support, set the MFJSENGINE environment variable.

Note: SYNCSORT emulation allows you to omit the equals sign (=) between a keyword and its bracketed parameters; for example, OUTREC(05:5,10).

Restriction: The maximum number of SUM fields is 600. The maximum SUM field length for formats FI, BI, and FL is 8; for ZD format, it's 31; for all other formats, the maximum SUM field length is 18.

If required, use the SORTXSUM DD statement to write records that were deleted during a SUM process to a dataset. This occurs at the time of the SUM processing, and so will not undergo OUTREC, E35 or OUTFIL processing, which all occur after SUM processing.

The following field formats are supported, where applicable:
