Enterprise Server Common Web Administration

The Enterprise Server Common Web Administration (ESCWA) tool is a modern and feature-rich interface that enables you to:

  • Configure a custom dashboard to display and monitor servers, their status, and performance.
  • Monitor and control Enterprise Server instances.
  • Administer Directory Servers, across multiple hosts, which provides the ability to stop, start and configure their Enterprise Server instances.
  • Enable administration and monitoring of scale-out enterprise server instances for improved performance of systems under load. See Scale-Out Performance and Availability Clusters for more information.
  • Import and export enterprise server regions in XML, JSON, and legacy formats.
  • Provides an HTTP and JSON-based API to automate Enterprise Server deployment and monitoring.
  • Configure and administer a security manager, defined in an LDAP-compatible security manager such as Microsoft Active Directory, AD LDS or OpenLDAP. You can create, modify and delete users, groups, resource classes, and resource entities. Easily sort and filter users, groups, classes, and resource entities.
  • Administer, monitor, and control Enterprise Server (ES) for .NET regions and listeners.
  • Administer and monitor enterprise server instances running within a Kubernetes cluster.
  • Administer the MFA product on a Mainframe. This feature is in Early Adopter Program (EAP) release status.

Limitations

ESCWA has the following limitations:

  • The security manager does not support nested groups within the interface. If required, you can administer nested groups from the esfadmin command-line utility.
  • ESCWA is not supported on HP-UX.
Note: The CASESM Security Manager was part of the legacy security model used in the Net Express or Server Express 5.0 and earlier products. As part of this, the legacy ESMAC user interface pages had Security Keys as configurable options. In ESCWA, these can only be accessed by the Client Web API and are not available in the ESCWA user interface pages that are equivalent to the corresponding ESMAC pages.
