System and User Data

Micro Focus recommends that you store catalog, user catalogs, spool files (spljob, spldsn, splmsg, spljno) and the CICS resource definition file in a datastore.

If VSAM or transactional files are critical to the availability of the system, it is recommended that they are moved to a datastore.

Remember: Any Field Developed Solution (FDS) or scripts that directly access these files need to be modified for the new URI and utilities to load/unload files.
