Use this page to view the current resource locks on this server.
You can remove locks if necessary. Contact
Customer Care for more information and guidance on removing locks. To remove locks, click
Remove Locks. This opens the
Enable Lock Removal dialog box. If you accept the risk associated with removing locks and want to proceed, check
I understand and want to proceed. This will enable the
Remove Lock option in the
Actions column. Clicking this will open the
Remove Lock? dialog box which will prompt you to confirm the action.

- Owner Process ID
- The process ID (PID) of a process that has issued a lock or wishes to issue a lock.
- Owner Process TID
- The thread/task ID that owns the process.
- Owner Lock Info
- The Job No and Job Step of the lock owner.
- ID
- The resource ID allocated to the locked resource for the purposes of linking the information in the Lock Ownership part of
the table with the information in the Resource Details part of the table.
- Type
- The type of lock. This can be either:
- State
- The state of the lock. Possible states are:
- Controlled
- The requester has control of the resource.
- Waiting
- The requester is waiting to gain control of the resource (synchronous request).
- Pending
- The requester has issued the request but has continued with other asynchronous request.
- Persistence
- Displays how long the lock lasts. Possible values are:
- LUW
- The lock lasts until the logical unit of work ends.
- Task
- The lock lasts until the task ends.
- Lock Manager
- There is no implicit release of the lock.
- Process
- The lock lasts until the process ends.
- Sequence
- The order in which requesters are to be handled.
- QNAME
- The type of target resource for the lock.
- RNAME
- The target resource name for the lock.
- Share Mode
- This can be either:
- Length
- The length of the resource name in characters.
- Name
- The name of the resource given to it by the requester.
- Hex
- The name of the resource given to it by the requester in hex, where applicable.
- Scope
- The scope for the lock:
- N/A
- Not applicable. This occurs when the
enterprise server region is the Global Lock Manager.
- LOCAL
- The lock is local.
- GLOBAL
- The lock is global.
