Filename mapping enables I/O requests made against one data file to be mapped to a different data file when your program is executed. For example, you can use filename mapping to enable applications that use DOS file naming conventions to access data files under the control of a Fileshare Server running on an operating system that uses different file naming conventions, such as UNIX or NetWare.
You do not need to change the configuration of the Fileshare Client to use filename mapping.
