The
enterprise server region must be running to be able to create a new resource.
You can create a new resource by specifying all the details from scratch, or you can copy an similar resource that already
exists and then amend the required details.

In
Server Explorer, right-click the CICS-enabled
region, and select
CICS Resources.
The
CICS Resources view is displayed, by default grouping the resources by type.

Create a resource using one of the following methods:
- create a resource from scratch:
- Displaying the resources by type, right-click the type of resource to create (FCT, PCT, or PPT), and then click
New.
The
New <type> resource dialog box is displayed.
- Complete the resource details, as appropriate; use the resource type links below for field definitions.
Note: If the new resource requires a new group, click
New Group, and then use the
New CICS Group dialog box to add the group to the Group droplist.
- Click
OK.
- create a resource by copying an existing one:
- Right-click the resource that closest resembles the new resource, and then click
Copy.
Tip: You can also click
(
Copy) from within the details of an existing resource to create a copy.
The
Copy <type> resource dialog box is displayed.
- Amend the existing details, as appropriate; use the resource type links below for field definitions.
- Click
OK.
The resource is created and its details immediately displayed.

If required, click
(Install the resource and make it active) to activate it in the current configuration.
You can now close the resource tab.
