Edit a data set from the catalog

You can edit the contents of a data set within the catalog by invoking the Data File Editor.

Note: If the catalog file is to be opened through Fileshare, see To open a catalog file through a Fileshare server.
  1. In Server Explorer, right-click the JES-enabled enterprise server, and select Show Catalog.

    The Catalog:<ES-name> tab is displayed.

  2. Double-click the catalog item to view.

    The <catalog-item> tab is displayed.

  3. Click Open catalog file icon (Open catalog files...) to open the file in the editor, and then edit the file accordingly.
  4. To view your changes, click View catalog contents (View).

    A new tab containing the contents of the item is displayed.

  5. Click Display to show the updated changes. The changes made in the editor are also displayed in the catalog view.
