Rebuild may output error, information or warning messages when rebuilding, converting or reorganizing an indexed file.
Also, when Rebuild encounters a problem, it searches for the next good record and writes it to a file called
rebuild.1af.
Syntax Errors These occur when an error is encountered, the command line is displayed with a caret (^) symbol under the point at which the
error was detected and error message is displayed.
Execution Errors These occur when the program sets the return code to a value other than zero to indicate the type of error that has occurred.
Information Messages These messages are displayed for information purposes only.
Warning Messages Depending on the operation selected, some command line options are unnecessary. In these cases, the incorrect usage will be
indicated, but the option will be ignored and processing will continue. Note that the option may be correct, but omission
of other information may have caused Rebuild to select the wrong process. If this is the case, correct the command line and
rerun.
