To number or renumber lines in source code

To number or renumber the lines in a COBOL source file that is open in the editor:

  • Right-click the source code in the COBOL editor, and click Source > Renumber.

    If the source code has not been previously numbered, Renumber numbers it.

Alternatively, click Renumber in the Eclipse toolbar.

The style of the line numbers is specified in Window > Preferences > Micro Focus > COBOL > Editor > Line Numbering.
Tip: If you select the Perform line numbering on save option, numbering is automatically applied when you save the source file.
