To start the Segment Layout Editor

To start the Segment Layout Editor from your Eclipse project:

1. In Eclipse, open the project that contains your COBOL program.
2. In the Project Explorer, expand the COBOL Programs folder to show the COBOL programs in the project.
3. Right-click the COBOL program that contains the Data Division on which you want to base your new segment layout file; then select Create Segment Layout File from the context menu.
4. Select an IMS database from the list; then click Create.

To start the Segment Layout Editor from Classic Data File Tools:

1. In the Classic Data File Tools UI, click File > New > Segment Layout; then click OK.
2. Select an IMS database from the list; then click Create.
3. Navigate to and select the .idy file generated for the COBOL program that contains the Data Division on which you want to base the segment layouts; then click OK.
