To set program environment variables to use while debugging

  1. In the Solution Explorer, double-click the Properties entry to open the properties sheet for your PL/I project.
  2. Click the Debug tab.
  3. Click the Edit button that corresponds to the Environment Variables data grid.
  4. Click Add.
  5. Complete the Variable and Value fields for your new key/value pair.
  6. Continue to Add, Remove, or edit the fields as required.
  7. Click OK.
