From within the IDE, you can interact with a JCL-enabled enterprise server, and control most of the spool and catalog functions that you can perform when connecting to the ESCWA interface.
Using the Server Explorer, you can submit JCL jobs to the enterprise server, and then view the spool queues as those jobs are processed. For each job in the queue, you can display the results of each step, and any messages or output that the job generates.
You can also manage the catalog associated with the enterprise server, by displaying and editing the attributes of each item in the catalog. The actual contents of the data sets can also be displayed, and then opened and edited in the data file editor.
Both the spool and catalog views have a filter, enabling you to focus on the jobs or catalog entries with which you are working.
