Before you can generate a Profiler report for an application, you must enable Profiler in the properties of a project, a build
configuration or a file.
To enable Profiler for a project:
- In the IDE, navigate to the project's properties.
- Click
Micro Focus > Project Settings > COBOL, and set
Enable profiler to
Yes.
- Click
Apply and Close.
To enable Profiler for a build configuration:
- In the IDE, navigate to the project's properties.
- Click
Micro Focus > Build Configurations > COBOL.
- Expand
Enable configuration specific settings and check
Enable configuration specific settings.
- Set
Enable profiler to
Yes, and then click
Apply and Close.
To enable Profiler for an individual file:
- In COBOL Explorer, right-click the file or a selection of files whose properties you want to change.
- On the
COBOL tab, check
Enable file specific settings.
- Set
Enable profiler to
Yes, and then click
Apply and Close.
Note: If automatic builds are switched off in the IDE, you need to recompile your projects manually in order for these changes to
take effect.
If your application executes in an enterprise server, you must also configure the server to run in Profiler mode:
- In the IDE, open the Server Explorer view.
- Right-click the server that your application uses and click
Configure Analysis > Profiler.
Next time you run your application, you get Profiler reports after stopping the server.
