Installing X Windows on Windows

Some features of Enterprise Developer for Eclipse on Windows require an X Windows installation, hence Micro Focus ViewNowX is provided with the product.

To install ViewNowX:

  1. Using Windows Explorer, navigate to the folder that contains the ViewNowX executable. By default, this is %ProgramFiles(x86)%\Micro Focus\Enterprise Developer\ViewNowX.
  2. Execute ViewNow_X_Server.exe and then vnx_HF_11327.msp in that folder.

ViewNowX requires that your client machine has Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86) installed. If it is missing from your machine, the ViewNowX installation will offer a link to download the package.
