The Micro Focus Common Client (MFCC) provides a client-side networking framework for several components of your development and run-time environments.
It's used by COBOL web service proxy programs, the Interface Mapping Toolkit's service-deployment mechanism, Fileshare clients (when configured appropriately), various utilities such as cassub (depending on operating mode), CICS Web Interface and CICS Web Services, and product components such as MFCS and ESCWA.
MFCC is configurable through its configuration file. By default, the file is named mf-client.dat, which is located in the bin subdirectory of your product install directory (Windows) or $COBDIR/etc (UNIX). You can use the MFC_CONFIG environment variable to override this and specify your own configuration file; set it to the absolute pathname of the configuration file to use.
Refer to mf-client.dat Configuration Options for details on how you can edit or enable advanced functionality, such as TLS support or Web Service clients.
