Submitting JCL from the Enterprise Server for .NET Administration UI

JCL can be submitted to any started JES region that has been defined to the Enterprise Server for .NET Administration UI.

Before JCL can be submitted to a JES region, the name of the machine running the communications listener process and the MFBINP port associated with the region in that process need to be configured in the region start-up file prior to the region being started. To do this:
  1. Open the Enterprise Server for .NET Administration UI.
  2. If the JES region to which you want to submit jobs does not exist in the tree-pane, you must first define the region to the UI. See To Define a New Region.
  3. Select the JES region in the tree-pane and click the Edit Region Start-up File action in the actions-pane. See 1 in the diagram below.
  4. Select the Region node in the results-pane to display the Properties window.
  5. Set the Host property in the JES category to the name of the machine running the communications listener process to which JCL will be submitted. See 2 in the diagram below.
  6. Set the Port property in the JES category to the MFBINP port number associated with the region in the communications listener process. See 3 in the diagram below.
  7. Save the changes to the region start-up file.
