VSE JCL Statements

These are the VSE JCL statements that Enterprise Developer supports.

Identifies a comment statement.

Identifies a label statement.

Identifies an end of data file statement.

Indicates an end of job statement.
/+
Identifies an end of procedure statement.
ASSGN
Assigns a logical I/O unit to a physical device, either directly or using another logical I/O.
DATE
Places the specified date temporarily in the communication region. Parsed but not processed.
DLBL
Associates a DD name with a dataset.
EXEC
Executes a program, a JCL procedure or a REXX procedure.
EXTENT
GOTO
IF
If the specified expression evaluates to TRUE, then the following statement is executed. If the expression evaluates to FALSE, then the following statement is skipped.
JOB
LIBDEF
Defines which libraries are to be searched for members of a specified type.
LIBDROP
Resets the library search paths set up by previous LIBDEF statements.
LIBLIST
Displays the current library definitions on SYSLOG or SYSLST.
MTC
Enables you to perform tape operations.
ON
ON is a global condition function. During the execution of a JOB which includes ON statements, the test in the ON statement is performed after every step.
OPTION
Changes job control options for the duration of the job.
PAUSE
Halts execution and waits for a reply from the operator.
PROC
The first statement in a cataloged procedure.
PWR
Power commands are not supported within the JCL stream.
RESET
Resets temporary LU assignments back to defaults.
SETPARM
Stores a symbolic parameter and value.
SETPFIX
Guarantees real storage will be available.
TLBL
Associates a DD name with a tape dataset.
UPSI
Sets the 8 switches in the UPSI (User Program Switch Indicator) byte.
ZONE
Sets the time zone. Parsed but not processed*.
