VERBOSE

Restriction: This topic applies to Windows environments only.

The VERBOSE batch SQL command is used to set "normal" display mode. Under normal mode, all messages, commands and prompts are displayed on the screen. Since VERBOSE is the default mode, this command is typically used to return to normal operation following the execution of a TERSE command (see TERSE command, above).

The VERBOSE command must be placed immediately after the query on which you want it to start taking effect. Once a VERBOSE command is executed, it will remain in effect for the rest of the script, or until a TERSE command is encountered. Together, the TERSE and VERBOSE commands can be used to selectively enable or disable quiet mode operation at certain points in the batch file.
