&HEX-AS-STRING

Return a string containing the characters represented by the hex character sequence, thus eliminating unprintable characters in the source code.
Restriction: This topic applies only when the AppMaster Builder AddPack has been installed, and applies only to Windows platforms.

Syntax:

&HEX-AS-STRING (&variablename)

Aliases:

&hex-as-string (&variablename) &Hex-As-String (&variablename)
&hexasstring (&variablename) &HexAsString (&variablename)
&HEXASSTRING (&variablename)

Comments:

The string being converted should:

  • Contain hexadecimal values.
  • Have an even number of digits.
  • Not be empty.
  • Have a string symbol type of text.

Example:

&HEX-AS-STRING ("00") = (unprintable result)

&HEX-AS-STRING ("01") = (unprintable result)

&HEX-AS-STRING ("10") = (unprintable result)

&HEX-AS-STRING ("13") = (unprintable result)
