Options you select on the Import Options dialog box remain in effect for the duration of the current session or until you
change them. In this case, a session is defined as an open occurrence of the Import window. You can have multiple Import windows
open at the same time and each Import window can be using a different set of values for the options.
Instructions for how to set import options are provided below.
To set import options:
- Click the Options command from the Import menu.
SQLWizard displays the Import Options dialog box.
- Click to choose an Insert Mode.
Note:
Be aware of the limitations of using Engine Direct Write.
- Click to choose an On Error option to control error handling.
- For the Recalculate option, choose All or specify the number of records to be examined when SQLWizard suggests a table definition for the file you are importing.
- To specify a Commit Interval, click the checkbox in this section and enter a value to indicate how many records should be imported between each commit.
- To convert data from one code page to another, select an entry from the ASCII Conversion box. Leave the field set to (None) if no conversion is required.
- Click to choose the desired Logging methods. To track overall import errors, select the Errors checkbox and provide a file name. To track bad records and have them inserted in a file, select the Records checkbox and provide a file name.
- Click OK.
