While there are many advantages to using the prompted query facility to generate your SELECT statements, there will be many times that you will need to type in SQL statements, or paste SQL statements from the clipboard. Using the SQL Edit window, you can write and execute any type of SQL statement.
You can also include multiple SQL statements in an SQL Edit window and execute each in turn, or skip through them one at a time, or run just the currently selected command.
Although many of the menu items and toolbar buttons used by the Query Design window are disabled in the SQL Edit window, you will run and save queries in the same way, regardless of which window you use.
